Articles and Commentaries by D'Lynn Waldron ©

I was the only foreign correspondent with Lumumba in Stanleyville in 1960.

The honourable among the Belgian officials in the Congo and many other Belgians there knew that the Belgian Government had fostered a civil war in Luluabourg and planned to get rid of Lumumba because he was the only person capable of holding the Congo together after Independence. The Western economic interests wanted the Congo to break apart after Independence so they could reclaim the profit-making parts such as Katanga.

Many original documents and photographs from Stanleyville and from the civil war in Luluabourg can be seen at http://dlwaldron.com/lumumba_contents.html
There is a comprehensive itemized statement by Lumumba of his policies, written for me, with my Kodachrome of Lumumba composing that document.

I can say absolutely that Lumumba feared Russia and that he asked Eisenhower to provide urgent training in administration for the personnel of the future government of the Congo. Instead Eisenhower allowed the American government, in operation Zaire Rifle, to be involved in Lumumba's assassination.

Blow are links to pages containing my newspaper headline stories, photographs, and the related documents from 1960, with commentaries by me written in after 2000.

The subjects covered with original documents on this web site include: Lumumba in Stanleyville and his real attitude towards America and Russia, the secret cannibal war in the Kasai fostered by the Belgian government to sabotage the upcoming independence, which I exposed, and my escape from the South African secret police with the data on the real cost of mining gold
